Sunni vs. Shiite

I think not only the government should know the difference between a Sunni and Shiite, but so should everyone else.  Iraq and Iran are Shiite countries by a large population. Sunni’s are a part of Al Qaeda.  Right now the United States of America is fighting a war against Al Qaeda.  Al Qaeda is a very radical group, so they are Sunni. The Sunni and Shiite are two different groups of people who have different views on Muslim faith. It is important for the United States to know a lot about the enemy they are fighting, so they have enough information to be able to defend themselves against them. If the enemy that a country is fighting is not very developed, that country can use its own technology to defeat the enemy. It is important to know what they want from each other so that if they are in war other people can help them win the war. This little information could be what causes the 1,400 year rivalry of the Shiite and the Sunni to finally come to an end. If the all American officials and government don’t know about the information about the difference between Sunni and Shiite then how do we know that we are safe enough to be living without knowing ourselves? If everyone knew more about Sunni, maybe we would be able to end the rivalry that’s going on.  It is mainly important for our F.B.I. officers, C.I.A. officials, and any other branch of government dealing with crime to know the difference between a Sunni and Shiite. This is because we want to protect our country from terrorism and the best way to do this is for everyone to know right away that a Sunni wants to terrorize our country, and a Shiite does not. If we don’t know the difference between them then that just makes our chances slimmer from protecting our country with information and security that knowing what the difference is will provide us.
